We take our name from our location in Florence (Borgo Ognissanti 28) built in the early 1800s and set amongst some of the most iconic buildings in the city.
Borgo28 is best described as sartorial sportswear; a mix between soft tailoring and casual clothing providing a diverse and unique collection for the discerning gentleman.
In 2013, Borgo28 signed a licensing deal for the distribution of our garments in North America and Canada with Ballin International.
Our clothing is constructed using 100% pure fibers from combed cottons and cashmere blends. All our garments are enzyme-washed. Unconstructed tailored jackets, garment-dyed tees and over-dyed check shirts all feature prominently in our most recent line.
Our clothing features exclusive design details, including our signature internal selvage. Our woven shirts all contain cotton voile internal side seam taping with floating woven canvas internal collars and real Mother of Pearl buttons (bone or horn). We chose to construct our shirts with the finest long stem Egyptian cotton.
The cut/fit of the Borgo28 garment features a narrow cross chest and larger cross back that enhances movement and creates a cleaner, trimmer look.
Our sweaters are made from a blend of natural fibers (cashmere, silk, merino wool and cotton), and are generally multi-ply long stem yarns that help reduce pilling and effectively make the garment longer lasting.
The contrast between casual and tailored, classic and contemporary gives our line a vibrancy and individuality that is unique to Borgo28.
Founder and owner, Shayne Regan, was born in New Zealand. He was raised in Australia, has previously lived in London and Florence, and now resides in Florida.
He studied at Sydney College of the Arts achieving a BA in Fashion and Textile Design. He then attended the London Royal College of the Arts where he attained a Master of Arts specializing in Menswear Design and Tailoring.
After working in Italy as Design Director for Mondo di Marco from 1991-2000, he founded Studio Regan, an international freelance design company. In 2010, Studio Regan evolved into Borgo28 with the launch of the collection that can be found in some of the most prestigious specialty stores in the USA.
